CBR600F4i / CB900F Throttle Body Adapter - First Prototype Begin
I initially designed the adapter using LibreCad and Openscad. Turns out, Openscad cannot generate a STEP file that CNC machine shop needs. So I had to redo the design in FreeCad. Here is the result:
It was a bit tricky getting my LibreCad DXF file imported correctly into FreeCad. The main thing that was required is that I needed to import them as a drawing. Then, convert each drawing to a sketch and join all connecting points. It became a long process but it did worked. The result was good.
At the moment, I am waiting for the CNC shop to make it! Hopefully in a week or so, I will show the first prototype.

CBR600F4i / CB900F Throttle Body Adapter - Initial Design
So I've been working hard to create a CNC prototype for my throttle body adapter. The initial idea was to create a 2 piece design that will bolt to the TBs. I have a 3D printer handy, so I am able to print out the design for fitting. I will be using LibreCad for the 2D design and then extruding it with OpenScad. Both are free open source tools! The baseplate and airbox connector look like this...
After considering that I will have this CNC by a shop, why not just make a 1 piece design? It quick evolved to something like this...
Initial test fitting. The o-ring looks nice and snug. And it fits the TB like a GLOVE. This is not very good since I have to consider tolerances of the OEM TBs. They are mostly casted aluminum. Judging by their OEM plastic airbox, I will need to provide more tolerance.

Hello World! This blog is to blog about my hobbies. Basically it is my internet notepad. I will start by introduction my Honda CB600F Fuel Injection Conversion.
At the moment here are the following tasks.
* Designing a throttle body adapter for OEM airbox, pod filters, and custom airbox for turbo
* Adding fuel outlet to the tank
* Running stainless steel braided brake lines as fuel lines
* Relocating battery
* Retrofitting harness to use Microsquirt V3
* Creating initial maps
The list goes on... That's it for now. Stay tune for more details. I will talk about my throttle body adapter design next time.
